Dr. Tyler Begg earned his Bachelors in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2018 from Wittenberg University in his home state of Ohio. It was here that he met his wife and eventually followed her to her home state of Florida. Though he grew up on a small farm in Ohio, spending countless hours around both large and small animals, it was at the University of Florida that Dr. Begg began to focus his studies on small animal medicine, graduating with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. It was during his time at the University of Florida that Dr. Begg’s interests in internal medicine, ultrasonography, and anesthesia developed.

After graduation, Dr. Begg started practicing veterinary medicine in the greater Jacksonville area before joining the team at Southside Animal Clinic in 2024. He is passionate about using Fear Free practices to promote general wellness of his patients by reducing fear, anxiety, and stress in the clinical setting. He also enjoys educating his patients’ parents whenever possible, making sure they feel informed and empowered about their pets’ medical care. Outside the office, Dr. Begg can be found spending quality time with his wife and their pup, Mabel. He enjoys exploring places local to Jacksonville, cheering on the Jaguars, spending time outside, playing tennis with his wife, and taking their road bikes out on long rides.
